About This Website
An independent gift and shopping guide for Dutch-Turkish travelers
This site helps people in the Turkish diaspora in the Netherlands decide what is actually worth buying in Holland before traveling to Turkey.
Avrupa'dan Hediye is a static editorial website built for a very specific question: "What should I buy in the Netherlands to take to Turkey?" The audience is mainly Turkish families, relatives, and frequent travelers comparing gift ideas, practical purchases, and suitcase space.
What we evaluate
We score products based on three simple criteria:
- Price difference: Is the product meaningfully cheaper or better value in the Netherlands than in Turkey?
- Suitcase portability: Is it easy to carry, pack, and bring through normal travel without hassle?
- Gift value: Does it feel like a thoughtful, useful, or distinctive item to give someone?
Our 100-point system
Each product gets a score out of 100. A higher score means the item tends to offer a stronger mix of savings, portability, and gift appeal. The score is meant to help readers prioritize quickly, not to suggest a universal truth for every shopper.
We say "not worth it" when needed
If something is only marginally cheaper, widely available in Turkey, bulky for a suitcase, or simply not a good value, we say so directly. The site is designed to be useful first. That means some products are intentionally labeled as not worth bringing.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links on this website may be affiliate links. If a reader clicks and makes a purchase, the site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to the buyer. This does not change the editorial criteria above. We do not recommend products based on commission alone.
Price disclaimer
Prices shown across the site are reference prices checked at a given time, not live offers. Promotions, stock, seller changes, and exchange-rate movements can change the final price. Readers should always confirm the current retailer price before purchasing.
